The Making of Plat Kitchen - Turning Your Property Into a F&B Investment

I've always wanted to invest or get involved in a F&B business. When I finally found some like-minded partners, it was the word GO straight off.

The most daunting task at first was to identify a location and we actually considered a number of options. Finally, we narrowed down to Melaka.

Melaka has an abundance of vacant premium shops. Rent is really cheap. Whereas, being a tourist city, food and drinks prices are equivalent to KL. So, this presents us with a good incubation to build our brand - or so we thought...

The next great challenge are the local contractors. Being a small town, Melaka lacks contractors who have a good sense of taste.... so managing them was extremely difficult. So for this property, the concept to market took a whopping 3.5 months of lost revenue and opportunity.

Stay tuned for the results...
